Lately I've been thinking a lot about our criminal justice system. I've recently regained some of my faith in our social institution but some things still amaze me. How is it that a convicted 1st degree murderer can tweet? Take jabs at the prosecutor and ask for donations? How does an inmate get away with selling reproduced copywrited material? All the while continuing to make the victims suffer. Does that seem right?? Oh, but the constitution...the constitution was written 226 years ago!!! There was no Internet. No twitter or Facebook. This is a disgrace to our society. Suddenly criminals have the right to say what they want to the world, as long, of course, as they have a willing participation on the outside.
But wait...what if that participant were a felon too??
How on earth is this allowed?? I understand that you're innocent till proven guilty but once you are Convicted, especially with 1st degree murder, you're rights should be stripped away completely.
I don't generally agree with the death penalty but when someone is evil, cruel and heartless they should absolutely be locked in a cell for 23 hours a day in complete solitary. Isn't that worse then death anyway?? Especially with the fact that the death penalty is very humane. Death seems too easy for the criminal but so traumatizing to the criminals family who, no matter what you argue, is innocent. They do not deserve to be punished that way just for loving an evil person. Think about how much you love YOUR child. Most of us would give our own lives for one of our kids. The desperation that woman must be feeling is heartbreaking. This monster has ruined so many lives. And the scariest part is that she is only ONE of millions of evil people out there......
I would have to think that if our founding fathers were here today, they would be disgraced at the things we allow due to our 'constitution'. Convicted MURDERERS should never have the ability to take aim at their victims. In such a public way, none the less. It amazes me that nothing could be done to stop this.
Why would a convicted killer do an interview immediately after hearing the verdict that they are officially a cold blooded murderer? Furthermore, how is it okay for a proven liar to drag their murder victim through the mud? And that is putting it lightly. How can one person hold so much evil inside of them? It boggles my mind.
I set up this blog to basically vent about these things involving our criminal justice system that seem completely wrong to me. You may agree with me, you may not....I find it hard to imagine that anyone would think a murderer should be aloud to 'express their thoughts and opinions' but nothing surprises me anymore.
